BCCI President To Attend Asia Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony In Pakistan.

The President of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Roger Binny, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), will be crossing the border to attend the opening ceremony of the Asia Cup, commencing on August 30. Despite the PCB acting as the host for this edition of the Asia Cup, the tournament will be split between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. This decision was reached due to the BCCI's concerns about sending their players to Pakistan due to security reasons. Nevertheless, the BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajiv Shukla have accepted the Pakistan board's invitation to be present in Multan on the tournament's opening day.

According to Pakistan media, Zaka Ashraf, the Chief of the Pakistan board, stated, "BCCI President and Vice President are coming to Pakistan for the opening ceremony of Asia Cup. We welcome everyone who is coming to Pakistan [during Asia Cup]."

These comments from the Pakistan board's chief were made during the launch of the men's national ODI team's jersey. Ashraf also expressed confidence in his team's potential success in both the Asia Cup and the upcoming World Cup.

"Our team is currently united and performing well, and consequently is number one in the ODI team rankings," he remarked. He added, "Looking at the recent performances of the team, it is hoped that our team will be successful in the World Cup, however, at the moment all the attention is focused on the Asia Cup."

Additionally, the PCB President provided insights into the team's new ODI jersey, stating, "The Star Nation Jersey bears witness to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the passionate fans who stand by them through every match. This jersey encapsulates our rich cricketing heritage and the luminous future that awaits."
